✅If you want to be truly successful in how you achieve your goals, then you need to harbour the right habits and attitudes that will keep you on track. There are a number of good traits you have to keep for life to discover that more opportunities and good things are bound to happen, if only you allow these. Here are some of the features that great people had:

🔅Being Industrious

Hard work always pays off. There is no single famous individual person in history who achieved several goals in life without working it off. Being industrious means working harder than anyone else, studying more than anyone else and even suffering more than anyone else. You have to understand the importance of delayed gratification as you work towards your ultimate goal. To begin hard work, you can begin by fixing your schedule, writing down tasks and functions of the day and finding the right people and resources that can assist you. Keep in mind that you have to be as independent as possible to finish more in the long term.

🔅Discipline and Consistency

Discipline is what separates the leaders from the followers. If you truly want to make changes in your life, you have to understand doing things even if you do not want to at times, and maintaining excellent quality and optimum performance each time. Being consistent is intertwined with patience, wherein you continue performing well, regardless of the situations and hindrances, to render the results you want in the end.

Discipline and consistency are also interrelated, in the sense that discipline breeds consistency. If you continue practicing good habits and sticking to the functions that lead to your main goal, you will find it easier to do this as time passes. You will change as an entire person and experience the opportunities that come with being dedicated.

🔅Resilience

Problems are a part of everyone’s life, but it is the resilient person who always prevails and achieves their goals. You need to learn from your past mistakes and convert these into more productive actions the next time. Learn to pick yourself up after each fall and put in double effort to become better. Some of the most successful people, as well as those who truly left a mark in history are known to have faced big difficulties and resentment before they let others understand their own way of doing things.(my fav)😃

🔅Optimism

You need to stay positive about your situation, regardless of the problems that you face. It is vital that you stay optimistic and always believe that you will get to your goal, no matter what. If you tell yourself that you will reach it sooner, chances are you will. It might help to believe in the powers of the “Universal Law of Attraction”which draws opportunities toward you just the way you intend it to, and in the right intensity as you desired.

🔅Patience

Some goals are very big and will take time to accomplish. Do not allow yourself to think that some goals are just too huge to be possible. Be specific and set goals that are attainable to your current situation and start working to achieve these. You can break it down into smaller tasks that are much easier to do within the given timeframe that you have.

Monday Motivation…looking for more time 👇🏾

🙂Looking to get more done this week, follow these quick tips👇🏾

Who hasn’t wished that there were more hours in a day? We seem to be rushing from place to place trying to accomplish everything and if we don’t we end up feeling frustrated. So here are a few handy tips to create more hours in a day.

✅1. Acknowledge the fact that you can’t do it all.

Decide what is important in your life. You have to know that you can’t do it all. If you do try, you will end up being frustrated and burnt out. The most important thing is how you are spending your time. Are you having quality time? Are you happy with the way you spend it? Think about that.

✅2.Prioritize ruthlessly

Review the list of things you have to do. Now redo that list and prioritize that list. Not everything has equal importance in that list. Which is more important? Getting your hair done or that big paper which is due this Friday? Once you prioritized, you find that you will be able to get more things done instead of rushing around like a mad person.

✅3.Enough is enough

You have to know your limit. Do not commit yourself to the project if you are still in the middle of another project. Unless you are able to handle both projects at the same time, then go ahead although that is most likely not the case. If somebody asks you to do a favour for them and your day is jam packed, learn to say NO. You are not being unkind, but you have to think of yourself too at the same time.

✅4.Get away from the distraction

When you have that big project coming along, it is okay for you to sit down, shut the door and disregard the phone calls or emails that are coming through for that particular period. You need to get your work done and those email and calls can wait. Set aside another part of the day for you to listen or respond to emails and phone calls

In conclusion, remember, to lead a balanced life you need to get your life organized, so try my time management tips and you will be sure to achieve all that you want to do.

Wellness Wednesday….steps to avoid depression!!👇🏾

There seem to be so many people who are depressed that we really should take a look at the causes of depression in the first place. The factors that contribute to depression are well-known, and well-researched, but what causes it is not quite understood. New studies have uncovered some of the factors that contribute to the probability of people developing depression.

❗️Stress

Stress takes the first place prize. It’s true that any stressful environment or situation can lead to depression. It can be anything such as social stress, getting a job, relationship difficulties, worrying about money, staying up late, lifestyle out of control, pressures of school and getting good grades. Other events that could cause depression are: death, change of job, moving from one place to another; even the fear of the unknown can cause depression. The list is endless. While these events cannot be avoided, we must come up with an effective stress coping mechanism to be able to thrive even in stressful situations because they are never going to go away. Stressful situations just keep changing.

❗️Drinking and Drugs

People who take drugs and alcohol are more prone to depression. When these substances are used at a young age, they can effect a a person’s brain in negative ways. These substances help make the person feel good temporarily, but in most cases, people become addicted.

Drugs release dopamine in the pleasure center of the brain. For example: delicious food boosts dopamine release by about 50 percent. Sex, on the other hand, doubles this number. However, drugs can increase dopamine release anywhere from four to ten times. This unnatural high almost certainly leads to depression after the high goes away. This substance is the surest way to fry brain circuitry.

Drugs make a person depressed more than it makes him happy. This effect will spiral downward until the person doing drugs will want more and more of the substance to break the cycle of depression that follows each high and so the addiction is born.

❗️Not Enough sleep

Studies show that up to 40 percent of adults do not get the proper amount of sleep per day and among students, up to 71 percent complain of sleep disorders and lack of sleep.

Sleep is essential to a person’s health. During sleep, the body repairs itself and reorganizes thought. Lack of sleep contributes to a lack of coherence in brain waves. This scenario often leads to depression. Sleeping during the day and staying up late also interferes with the body’s natural rhythms. This can lead to a sense of depression.

Here are few ways on how to prevent depression.

🔅Sleep is a vital part of preventing depression. Balance your life with enough rest and exercise everyday. Most people require seven to eight hours of sleep per day.

🔅Keep some regularity in your life. Orgaize your activities so they can come at expected and regular times. If your weekly, daily or monthly routine is set then your body has time to get used to the activities. This will lead to a reduced chance for depression to set in.

🔅Don’t push yourself beyond your limits. Keep stress in check and try to avoid stressors if you can. If this can’t be done, then try to deal with the stressors in a manner that minimizes the damage it causes.

🔅Sunlight and exercise can help the brain to function a higher level. Make time to enjoy the sunlight and try to stay active in the daylight when possible.

🔅Keep away from alcohol and drugs. They may seem attractive, but all they really do is cause havoc in a person’s life.

🔅Make at least one warm meal daily a priority. Good eating habits and good health are important when keeping away from depression.

🔅Have fun every day. Nothing takes the load off of depression like some good old fun time. Social activities such as chatting, joining a support group sports, and other hobbies can do wonders towards healing a stressed out and busy mind.

🔅Depression can be avoided and treated and it can be fun doing so. Follow the above mentioned tips for a brighter and happier disposition each day. You will look and feel better for it!

First and foremost always contact a doctor as that is important, these are just some healthy alternative ways to manage your depression or to keep you from falling down that hole!

Wellness Wednesday….

Want to loose weight, sleep better and boost your immune system?

1 Have a lie down

Back pain can be avoided and the damage repaired with one easy exercise, which is lie down on the floor with your knees bent, hip width apart, feet on the floor. Do this daily for about five to fifteen minutes to release and lengthen your spine.

2 Note your nibbles

Crash diets don’t work for long enough; instead maintain a food dairy to note your daily eating habits. With this you’ll be conscious of what you eat, and make healthier choices.

3 10 deep breaths

Our breath power our lymphatic system, which removes waste from cells. By taking 10 deep breaths, three times a day, you’ll clear more toxins and boost your thinking power by getting 20% more oxygen to your brain.

4 Put your fork down

Put your fork down between every mouthful of food, it makes you chew your food properly, preventing digestive problems, and also prevents you from over- eating.

5 Make a list

The most effective stress buster is to make a list. Your short term memory can only remember, on an average, seven things. So when you overload it , your stress level escalate. Making a list clears out all the stress from your brain you feel tension free. This saves you from headaches, depression and high blood pressure.

6 Massage your feet

Poor circulation could be robbing you of much needed sleep. Your temperature needs to drop slightly before you fall asleep, so your body dispels heat via your face, hands and feet. But many women have poor circulation, which constricts the blood vessels in their hands and feet and prevents them from dispelling heat. A hot bath before sleeping or a hand and foot massage will increase your circulation.

7 An organic apple a day

If you buy one organic item a day, make it an apple. Research found that pesticide residues in 71% of apples- the highest in fruits and vegetables.

8 Change your tea bag

When it comes to tea white is the new green. White tea comes from the same plant as green and black but is harvested earlier and undergoes less processing, which means it contains more cancer fighting anti- oxidants.

9 Eat dried apricots

The most common nutritional deficiency is iron. Tiredness, irritability and lack of concentration. Prevent it by having two helpings of lean red meat a week, or three dried apricots a day.

10 Stop skipping meals

Eating three meals a day is very important for a healthy body. It’s the simplest way to balance blood sugar levels, which will keep your mood, energy and concentration balanced and strengthen your stress tolerance.

11 Keep it crunchy

Include some raw vegetables in every meal. Many of the vitamins and minerals are in vegetables are lost through cooking, so raw food is as good as it gets.

12 Focus on your feeling

Take two minutes to boost your resolve to do walk, jog or aerobics class. The instant gratification of that exercise high is far more motivating than the promise of thinner thighs two months down the line.

So I have tried several of these tips and proud to say I have lost a couple of pounds, I do sleep a lot better since I started eating healthier.

I’m trying to get myself better to keep from falling back into depression and those bad drinking habits!

Much Success,

Olivia 💓

How To Stay Positive….and Stop Complaining!

Now…that I have your attention 🤷🏽‍♀️

I know this is a horrible way to talk about this topic, but I wanted to stress how crazy complaining about your situation can be! Nobody wants to hear it and you don’t get what you want doing it.

🔅Remember You Are What You Think You Are🔅

Are you constantly griping?😩

Looking at the bad side of things ultimately makes

it a self-fulfilling prophecy: everything goes rotten!

Instead of complaining about what you lack, cultivate and appreciate what you do

have. Nurturing your attitude so you become a positive person, and appreciating

who you are based on your capabilities, will create a positive outcome.

Your trip to success depends on the decisions you make👇🏾

  • Your task is to envision the situation from a ‘selfless’ perspective rather than a selfish one.
  • Take responsibility for your actions. If you feel your actions produce negative results, and the outcome is unacceptable, then shift your actions.
  • As you allow yourself the liberty to change, you also allow yourself the freedomto rise and discover new roads to success.
  • Remember a time or a situation when you faced a moderate degree of challenge.
  • You may have noticed a distinct change in your feelings. As the time drew closer to achieving whatever it was you set

out to accomplish, you felt more alive and more aware of your surroundings.

  • Your aliveness and vitality produce pleasurable feelings and is self-encouraging.
  • Your paradigms and emotions reach new peaks and plateaus as you plot your

direction with conviction.

  • When one door, or opportunity, closes another one bangs wide open.
  • It’s really good cliche! 👍🏾The opportunity for challenge helps you to grow, change, and take

charge of yourself. Working towards a new and exciting goal, or eliminating a non-empowering emotion or habit, empowers you to control your present situation

and your life.

  • As your ability to develop a new perspective grows, you put

yourself in the driver’s seat to greater self-actualization.

Admit it, there are folks in this world that enjoy pissing you off. 🤬

Maybe it’s because they lack direction in life, and attempt to communicate their frustration to you by pushing your anger buttons.

They may feel that they have no other way to relieve their pain but to cause you pain.

If they resist communicating with you in a positive way, let go of the situation.

Give yourself a time frame to decide how long you’ll put up with their manipulative behavior.

There’s no reason to let unwarranted conflict or pain affect your

life.

Speaking up for yourself is your choice and decision.

Fury and frustration with others will slow you down and block your progress toward success.

Making a move to slow down, speed up, or get out of their way by changing your direction, is a positive step forward.

Your ability to master your emotions depends on the positive decisions you make.

Creating a life of personal fulfillment is based on your inner strength, determination, and communication.

You won’t know where you’re going until you start heading in that direction.

Direct yourself to the path that provides maximum enjoyment and positive interactions with everyone!

Hope you will start focusing on what’s good and don’t allow your thoughts 💭 to keep you stuck in negative thinking!!!

Peace and Happy Thoughts,

Olivia
