Monday Motivation…5 Choices To Create Happiness😊

Happy Monday....💞

All of us have met people who just seem to be happy most of the time. Perhaps you have assumed that these people are just naturally happy, or that they are the lucky people who have an easy life, or they had really loving parents. Most of the time, nothing could be farther from the truth.🤦🏽‍♀️

Happy people are making specific choices regarding their thinking and behavior. Happy people consciously choose to think and behave in ways that result in happiness. Unhappy people are unconsciously thinking and behaving in ways that create unhappiness.

Following are five of the specific choices that happy people make and you can too:

Happy people see the glass as half full, while unhappy people choose to be pessimistic – to see the glass as half empty. Optimistic thinking does not just happen - it is a choice regarding how you see life. Optimistic people are optimistic because they CHOOSE to be optimistic. Instead of allowing their ego wounded self to be in charge with all its doom and gloom, happy people put their loving adult self in charge and open to the wonderful possibilities that life has to offer. Happy people realize that their thinking is the beginning of a creative process that leads to manifestation. By thinking in positive ways, they move themselves to act in ways that manifest their dreams.

Happy people choose to be kind and compassionate toward themselves and others. Happy people have learned that how they treat themselves and others determines much of how they feel. Happy people do not wait to be happy before being kind to themselves and others. They realize that their happiness is the RESULT of their caring behavior, not the CAUSE of it. They are kind, caring and compassionate whether or not they feel like it. They have chosen this way of being, and their happiness is the result.

Happy people do not harbor resentment toward others, even others who have been mean and hurtful toward them. They realize that resentment makes them unhappy, so they choose to allow people their humanness and forgive them their hurtful behavior. Because happy people tend not to take personally others’ uncaring behavior, they don’t get their feelings hurt in the same way that people do who take others’ behavior personally. Happy people recognize that another’s behavior is really about that other person, so they move into compassion toward themselves and others rather than into judgment.

Happy people realize what they can control and what they can’t. They live by the Serenity Prayer, accepting the things they cannot change and changing the things they can. Unhappy people are constantly trying to change people and circumstances and do not accept their lack of control. As a result, they are constantly frustrated. Happy people realize they cannot control others and outcomes, so they focus on what they can control – their own thinking and behavior. Acceptance of what they can and cannot control leads to happiness and inner peace.

Finally, happy people are consistently grateful for what they have, rather than complaining about what they don’t have. They notice the many gifts and blessings that come their way and they frequently express gratitude for the everyday things in their lives – the beauty of nature, the food they eat, the smile on a friend’s face, their ability to see, hear, walk, talk. Even many disabled people who may not have the blessings of eyesight, hearing, speech or legs are often happy people because they focus on what they do have and what they can do, rather than focusing on what they are missing out on.

If you want to be happy, then you need to recognize that happiness is the result of your thinking and behavior, not the cause of it. If you choose to focus on becoming conscious of what thoughts and behavior make you feel happy, you can become a happy person – regardless of your present circumstances. Happiness does not just happen – it takes work!

Have an amazing week friends💋

It’s Monday, Cloudy and Gloomy…but I’m in a Great mood!

Happy Monday, here we are again, another new week. It seems to be going pretty fast, and I’m just a little scared of that. I feel like I running out of time to get things done by the end of the year. I feel like I have to scratch something off my to-do list. As you know the first part of my year was pure hell, and I don’t want to end the it that way. Oh well, I have lots of work to do and I need to get my ass on it. Monday is a new day to start new things, I keep looking back at my writings how much I dreaded this day. Funny how life changes, but this time I’m hoping for the good. There comes a time when you want something more, and my time has come. There is also a time when you just know you need more dammit, and for so long I have just let time pass me by. Although I couldn’t control the thoughts in my head at the time, I just feel like I have so much catching up to do. So instead of looking at Monday as some life changing disaster, I now just see it as a new beginning to a great week. So if you are also feeling like there is something you need to get done, get up off your butt and get to it. We shouldn’t be waiting for the New Year to start what we have been putting off this year, so here’s to finishing up the year GREAT!!!!! Chat soon……

Good Monday To You All!

Happy Monday bloggers, feeling a lot better today than I have all weekend. This chronic pain had me in the bed all weekend long. Just couldn’t get anything done, because my body felt like a truck hit me. I did manage to catch up on some TV time, and I did a little writing for a new project I’m releasing soon. Hope it was a good weekend for you all, the weather here is beautiful not to hot. I’ve been in a pretty good mood today, thanking God I survived that pain this weekend. So what’s going on with you all? Me? Well I have tons of new items that have arrived in my online store, I have been invited to do a live chat on mental health in the black community, and I started a new diet. Whoo I’m exhausted just typing all the things I got going on this week. Out of everything, I think the diet is going to be the death of me, lol! I love food a lot, and I can’t live a part from it, LOL!! I just decided to do a little detox from all the bad foods I’ve put in my body over the last couple of weeks. Please Pray For Me!!! Therapy session last week was great, she is moving me to a coping skills class, and I have to attend AA meetings. I was a little bummed about that, because I will have to admit that alcohol has become a problem. Don’t think I was there yet, but I know I need to get the help if I plan on healing. Well with that being said, I’m off to run some errands since I’m off today. I won’t let Monday get me down, I’m planning on sparkling all over the day! Have a great Monday…chat soon!

Monday Motivation….

Awww Monday…..we meet again, but this time I’m prepared for what you bring to me. Trying to have motivation while being depressed is a task, because you’re trying to wait for the energy to return. I’m up and made it into my office, looked around trying to decided what the game plan is for today. With or without meds, depression can be very exhausting and I feel the urge to get back in bed. I think I can feel an episode coming on and I’m trying to keep busy, trying to keep from falling into a slump. Feeling guilty because I’m not at work, but can’t work because my mind isn’t focused on anything but negativity. The concept of “mind over matter” can help with depression and can help create motivation. I’m determined to beat this thing at all cost, but my bed is calling my name. Well I’m going to stay up and try to get some things done. I was reading some things last night that could also help break my cycle of a depression episode. Hope these things can help one of you out there in the blogging world too:

  1. Opposite Action:In Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (offset of CBT) this is the idea of forcing yourself to do something that you know is good for you, in order to prevent the reinforcement of a bad habit. For example, if you want to stay in bed all day, when realizing this only gives in to depression, opposite action would say to get up and go out, knowing it would be a healthier behavior. In CBT, the principle is that your behaviors can create positive changes in you emotions.
  2. Set an Alarm:This isn’t only for getting out of bed. The alarm can be for anything that marks a symptom of depression. You might set an alarm to wake yourself up at a certain time to make sure you get out of bed in the morning; or you might set an alarm to signal a meal time if you’re missing meals, or signal time to do laundry, or run a particular set of errands, and so on. The alarm serves as a cue to draw your attention to a target area where you want to become more in change.
  3. Make Your Bed: Getting out of bed can very tough with depression. The first step to take is to sit up on the bed, put your feet on the floor, and visualize leaving all of your troubles and thoughts behind you in bed. Then, get up and nicely make your bed, leaving the troubles behind for the day. Making the bed is essential in this process, as it signals to your brain that there isn’t an option to get back in the bed for the day. As you make your bed, it can also be helpful to imagine the troubles you’re left behind dissipating as the covers are pulled up.
  4. Wash Up: The more routine-setting steps you’re able to add-on after you make your bed, the better. Try washing your face and brushing your teeth to help you wake up. With these kind of steps you’re training your brain to understand that you’re getting ready for “something,” rather than simply a day lying around.
  5. Get Dressed: This is a crucial step in separating from the bed to the day. Sitting around in pajamas on the couch is still possible, even if you escape the bedroom. Getting dressed decreases the urge to lounge, because again you’re reinforcing in your brain that you’re getting ready for something.
  6. Go Outside: This can be one of the toughest steps for people who struggle with depression-actually leaving the house. On e of the problems with this step is that people are easily held back by not having a place to go. “Okay, I can go outside….but then what?” Get in the car, run errands, go to park and so on. The goal is to spend at least 10 minutes outside.
  7. Choose One Exercise: Getting your body moving is a good way to start feeling better. Choose an exercise that works for: walking, running, swimming, jumping, etc.
  8. Make a List of Activities: Brainstorm activities that you’d enjoy doing. Include things to do at home and out with people. Try to generate a list of things that includes others and that gives you some to yourself. The activites can be a mix of productive (e.g. work-related) activites, and hobbies, and self-care.
  9. Schedule Activities: Schedule the activities throughout the week. Try to plan out either one or two weeks ahead of time and actually write the activites into your calendar with specific times and days.
  10. Psychotherapy: It’s important to keep in mind that the desire to stay inside and lay around isn’t what causes depression-it is a symptom of depression. Psychotherapy remains a necessary step throughout the process of dealing with depression in order to prevent further episodes, reduce severity, and hopefully be rid of depression altogether.

What’s most important to keep in mind is that you’re not going to feel like doing anything discussed above. If you’re going to wait to “feel like it”, then it may never happen.-Nathan Feiles

These steps were pretty helpful and I’m going to do my best to get at least 2 done today.

Let’s Do This Monday

So far so good, the rain was pretty awesome and calming this morning. Got up kind of late, the pup hates the rain and wanted nothing to do with going out in it. Don’t have to be to the school until late, it’s Music Monday so the kiddos and I are doing karaoke 🎤! Lord this should be fun.🤗 Taking it one day at a time this week, but won’t give up! Just have so many “Why Me” questions this day. Oh well not going to dwell on the negative today, hoping each of you find a reason to smile this Monday! Chat soon…

New Week, I think I’m ready!!!👍🏽

Monday is upon us, and this means a new week! I so dread Monday’s but trying really hard to cast out my fears for the week!!! I’m only focusing on what could go right instead of wrong. I know I have to change my mindset and I’m working really hard to put that into practice. Just seems like I seen more bad days than good, so my mind tends to go that way. During this Lent season, I have been reading and studying the better side of life. I know that God doesn’t make mistakes! So I’m going to try and not let this week get me to down, and I promise to write down all the good things that happen to me! Big or small, I will be thankful for the little things. Well off I go to get this day started, wishing you all a great week! Chat soon…

I’m trying to find many outlets to ease my mind and not be so anxious! Behind the scenes I’ve started several new projects, but needed a little motivation to put them out there!!! I shake my head every time I say, “I need motivation”! That was so not me before, oh well hoping this is another outlet I can dive into!!! Hoping this is healing and therapeutic. Again just like I said about my book, “if only get one soul to stop and think before ending it” I have done my job!!! It’s so easy to motivate others, but I can’t seem to motivate myself. Just like my blog I keep it real and can talk a little more! So check it…have a great Monday!!!

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday Bloggers, I woke up feeling really refreshed and my body didn’t give me any trouble this morning. Usually when I get up something is cracking and bending all over, lol! I had this awesome dream last night and glad I got to see it through, usually I wake up and never get to go back to sleep. I’m feeling good this morning and praying that it continues through out this week, my son got up this morning to start his new job. He is still mad at me because I enforced a curfew on him. “Rolls eyes” I don’t think I’m wrong for enforcing rules in my house, hell if he had kept his butt out of trouble he wouldn’t be back here. Oh well not going to ramble and mess up my mood, hope you all have a wonderful day and a bless week. Got a full plate this week, so let me get started… soon!
