๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸพIt is human to have down times, where we feel discouraged, depressed and listless. The difference lies in how quickly we choose to get over those things that are holding us back, or making us feel less than our personal best. And that, I believe, is the key: being able to get past the downtimes in one’s life as quickly as possible and getting back on with being your best, moving forward in continuous improvement.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸพRemember, self-improvement is a hands-on project. That is to say, that without on-going implementation of the new ideas we learn, try as we might, we aren’t going to miraculously wake up one day changed people. No, we’ve got to act on those ideas and bits of advice we learn.

๐Ÿ˜ƒHere is a saying by Zig Ziglar; he has such a simple – yet powerful way of getting his point across:

Zig says, “People often say motivation doesn’t last, well that may be true, but neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it every day.”

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸพUnderstanding the need to attend to motivation and inspiration on a daily basis can lead a more positive daily life. Let’s look at it another way. You wake up and you pretty much have a clean slate. In most cases your day is fresh – neither overly negative nor positive. ๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸพThat being the case – then wouldn’t it stand to reason that importing positive thoughts (i.e. reading, listening, reciting, meditating, viewing, etc.) first thing in the morning, and throughout your day could do wonders towards reprogramming the way in which you see your world?

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸพRead the above Zig Ziglar quote several times a day. Also, choose to read from an inspirational book or listen to inspirational songs at least three times a day. In addition, immediately balance any negative experiences with something positive.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸพGiven the events of most people’s days this isn’t always feasible, but this approach can pay dividends and is worth attempting. Keep in mind that no matter how great any idea or advice is, unless YOU choose to implement it and give it a fair shot to work in your life you’re not going to get results.

Let me say that again – because it’s that important!

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸพYOU have to be a part of your own success journey. If you want to see real lasting change for the better in your life, you’ve got to be the biggest part of the process.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸพSo simply knowing that you can offset your negative feelings by introducing positive thoughts into your mind simply isn’t enough. No – you’ve got to actually do it – it’s going to mean keeping that inspirational book, or tape handy to refer to when you need to. It might mean stopping what you’re doing at the moment or even scheduling yourself some time to take in positive or motivational material.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸพLike dieting or exercising, developing a positive mental attitude is a choice. It requires nurturing. It’s not always immediate, but if you will work on it, and cultivate it you will see results. And those around you will as well.

If you need help, I’m only a phone call, text, or DM away!

Wednesday Wisdom ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

#upgradeyourlife

Little things can have a tremendous impact on a person. What little things have you done today for someone?

Think back over your life. Think about the people that had a positive influence on you. If your past was like mine, many of them didnโ€™t realize the impact they made. The influence was usually due to them caring about you and doing some little thing. What little things have been done for you that changed your life? What little things have you done for someone else that might have changed theirs?

๐Ÿ’ซI have been influenced by little things done by others.๐Ÿ’ซ

I had a boss that asked whether I had the guts to take a job he felt I could do. It was a job I wasnโ€™t even qualified to apply for. That question influenced me to set my career goals at a higher level and faster pace than they were at that time.

๐Ÿ’ซI have found that we can influence others by doing little things for them.๐Ÿ’ซ

You can influence others by providing help when it is needed. When I say provide help, I am not just talking about offering to help. Most people will not take you up on an offer even if they desperately need it. I remember taking food to a couple that was sick. This was not anyone I knew. It was a friend of someone that was my client. Two years later they saw me, thanked me and told me how much that meant to them. They even remembered my name after two years! ๐Ÿ˜ŠAnother way I have helped was to provide advice to countless women that now refer to me as their mentor. Also, to help families with grocery. Some of these families are friends of mines and thank me constantly for being there at the right time.

๐Ÿ’ซStart today doing little things for others.๐Ÿ’ซ

I can look back over my past and remember several moments in time that God used someone doing a little thing that encouraged me. I have also heard from others that have been influenced by me for doing the same. There are many kinds of little things you can do to encourage others. Some of these involve providing help when there is a need, saying thank you, and writing notes. What are you going to do today for someone that will make a difference in his or her life?

Do you find quitting too easy?

Do you find it hard to stick to a plan or purpose in life? Does quitting often seem too easy? What is the key to perseverance?

3 Quick Wise Keys To Perseverance

1. Self awareness: Notice when you look for excuses, rather than truth. Are you letting fear or laziness cause you to quit or procrastinate? If honestly watching yourself is difficult, explain your reasoning to a friend. Close friends may be more likely than you to know when you’re rationalizing. (Think about it from the other direction and you’ll see this can be true.)

2. Costs and benefits: To wisely persevere, you need to see the costs and benefits of what you are doing. If moving to Hollywood to become a star is going to cost you your business or family life, you have to see that clearly before you decide. An honest and good decision requires honest and good information.

3. Motivation: Once you’ve made a decision, and you’re sure you made it for the right reasons, you have to motivate yourself. In fact, perseverance requires that you regularly re-motivate yourself. Write goals down, do daily affirmations, and whatever else you have to do.

Habit is the most powerful secret of success. Practice watching yourself to make self-awareness a habit. Practice analyzing costs and benefits objectively, and practice motivating yourself. By the way, there are many good motivation techniques, so if what you’re doing doesn’t work – go read up on them and try something else. That’s perseverance.

Quitting isn’t an option,

Olivia

Monday Motivation: Goals

๐Ÿ”…The ability to set goals and to develop a plan for the accomplishment of those goals is arguably the most important ingredient of success.

Mastering this skill will enable you to achieve your dreams faster than you ever thought possible.

The goal-achieving system below is a powerful, yet simple strategy that can be used to help you achieve anything in life that you desire.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ1. Set your goal.

The first step is to find a goal that is big enough to inspire you. Unless you are truly inspired to accomplish the goal, it is just a wish. By calling it a “goal”, you are affirming that (a) you desire it intensely, (b) you truly believe in your ability to achieve your goal and (c) you are willing to pay the price in advance for achieving your goal.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ2. Write down your goal.

Writing out your goal stimulates the “filtering” part of your brain, called the Reticular Activating System (RAS). When you write down your goal, the RAS begins collecting relevant information, then sends results to the conscious part of your mind. It acts “behind the scenes”, causing you to become aware of opportunities that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Make sure that the goal is positive, is written in the present tense, is action-oriented, and is specific and as detailed as possible.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ3.Establish a deadline for the achievement of your goal.

By setting a deadline, your subconscious is activated to ensure the achievement of your goal within the prescribed time frame. If you follow all the steps in this process, and your projections are realistic, then you will achieve your goal by the deadline.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ4.Determine how you will benefit from achieving the goal.

You will only be compelled to achieve your goal if it is something that inspires you, something that causes such intense desire in you that you are willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish your goal. By writing down the reasons you want to achieve your goal, youโ€™ll discover how intense your desire really is.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿพ5. Identify what stands between you and your goal.

There will probably be several elements standing between you and your goal. Make a list of these “challenges”, and rank them in order of priority. Then, begin taking action to remove each of the elements that stands in the way of the accomplishment of your goal.

We only have a month left, get up off that does and go tackle those goals!!!! You will only regret not starting!!!

Gratitude Journal ๐Ÿ“” 10/24/18

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us.~Romans 8:18

โ˜บ๏ธGood morning friends, it’s hard to be grateful for difficult times.

๐Ÿ’“Help me to see my trails as an opportunity to grow and change.

๐Ÿ’“Help me reach out to others who are suffering their own difficult times.

๐Ÿ’“Thank you, God, for the chance to know you better through my suffering.

๐Ÿ’“Help me remember and be grateful for the suffering you endured to help me.

๐Ÿ’“Let me find the bright side of every trial and the strength to be grateful for the rest.

I know it’s easier said than done, but trusting God in all of your circumstances can really help.

As a person who suffers from depression, sometimes I can barely see the good in anything but I know I have to.

God will be beside you no matter what, so always be grateful!

Peace & Love
