Break Through Self-Doubt and Fear…Tuesday Tips

Happy Tuesday friends...as you go about your week, remember not to let self-doubt and fear creep into your life as you go about trying to accomplish your goals or healing process.

Self-doubt and fear interfere with our ability to achieve or set goals. Self-doubt and fear are the voices in our head telling us, “You’ll never succeed, so why try?” and “who do you think you are?” Self-doubt and fear are also what make us listen to those voices and decide to give up before we get started. (don’t let this be you)

While many people experience self-doubt and fear at some point in their lives, they take action anyway. Others remain stuck or are confident in only one area of their life, such as work. They are too afraid to try new things like going back to school, entering new relationships or learning new skills.

When we let self-doubt and fear rule our lives, we miss opportunities. We predict and believe that nothing good will happen to us, so we don’t try anything new, and refuse to take even low-level risks. This leads us to discount people or situations that could help us reach our goals. While self-doubt and fear can come in different forms and from different sources, we can learn to break through them.

I struggled with self-doubt for years as a child, a teen, also throughout my adult life. Fear kept me from pursuing so goals and dreams I wanted to accomplish.

This resulted in me never being my true self, so it was hard to step out of my shell, although I’m a very outgoing person I let fear and doubt rob me from my best life. Not anymore…๐Ÿ˜Š

Today I have a successful cleaning and new mentoring business. I have close friends, and a wonderful son and grandson. Learning from my life and others, I'm raising him to believe in himself, understand his feelings, and not be afraid of his fears. You too can learn to let go of your fears in order to live your best life by using these simple tips I provide here below:๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

1๏ธโƒฃ Make a list of your fears. Only by admitting that they exist can you seek solutions.

2๏ธโƒฃ Write down how these fears affect your life.

3๏ธโƒฃ Become aware of the voices in your head and write down those negative messages.

4๏ธโƒฃ Start building a support system of friends and eliminate people from your life who foster feelings of negativity.

5๏ธโƒฃ Join a support group of people who have similar issues.

6๏ธโƒฃ Change each negative message to one that is affirming and constructive.

7๏ธโƒฃ Read books that help you feel better about yourself.

8๏ธโƒฃ Be aware of your past, and be willing to let go of it.

9๏ธโƒฃ List your goals and the actions you need to achieve them.

๐Ÿ”Ÿ Take one of those actions every day. Each time you do something that brings you closer to achieving your goals you will feel better about yourself.

The first step to improving your confidence is cutting out that internal voice in our mind that keeps telling you that it is not possible, block it out and start asking yourself of what the worst case scenario is, it is usually not that bad as the voice in your head. After experiencing something you feared doing for the first time you realize that it was not as frightening as you thought.

Moral support is a very important part of beefing up your confidence, always confide in someone that can help you feel better about yourself. Opening up about your fears and feelings will not only make you feel better but it will give you another view of how other people see you and hearing someone tell you that you can do something can give you that one extra nudge into doing something.

Sometimes attempting something alone may be over whelming so you may try to find a partner that may motivate you, a good example is jogging, when you feel lazy to go jogging your partner will call you and expect t see you at your jogging spot this will help you in getting started in whatever project you want to indulge in.

Always consider the fact that if it can be done by others you as a person can also do it, it only requires for you to take one single step to begin a journey and it only gets easier as you move along.

Itโ€™s all about your mindset, you can do whatever you set your mind to! Changing your mindset will boost your confidence and set you up for success…

Self-Confidence is generally described as the ability of an individual to have faith and believe in his/her abilities. According to psychiatrists when one has self- confidence it normally results in having great self-esteem.

Self-esteem is defined as the โ€œworthโ€ that one can place on himself. It is his measurement of his own value as a person, in agreement to his behavior.

In addition, it is referred to as the respect and adoration in which one holds himself based on ones belief of what and who he is as a human being. This greatly affects oneโ€™s feelings about himself, about his life, about his relationships, and eventually determines his actions or how he accomplishes things.

The progress and growth of self-confidence correctly starts with self examination. The mind should be thoroughly inspected so that detrimental inclinations are checked, weaknesses are eliminated, and a right pattern of thought and behavior are established firmly.

According to studies fear is man’s enemy hindering self confidence. These studies stressed clearly that โ€fear thoughtโ€ is an illness that can be detected and identified. It largely arises from corrupt mental pattern, wherein the mind is allowed consistently to dwell on doubtful thoughts, inefficiency and failure. This power will become great, when freely allowed, affecting your life to a less or greater degree in virtually every undertaking.

Ignorance is the basic and prime cause of fear, that when one is not aware of his โ€œtrue natureโ€. A study showed that when one was convinced or has encountered his indestructible infinite โ€œsoul-natureโ€, then one would never feel fear. However, there are those who cannot or do not accept this, thus they feel separate, vulnerable, susceptible and isolated.

Fear of oneโ€™s self is demonstrated in several ways. You can experience shyness, diffidence, bashfulness, timidity and a need of โ€œself-confidenceโ€.

Soulful Sundayโœจ What are you feeding your Soulโ“

Good morning, what are you feeding your soul this today? My son sent me an email expressing his fear of failure, that got me to thinking what is he putting into his mind? What have I been teaching him all these years? Is this learned or taught behavior. Fear has influenced many of my decisions and I’m afraid I have rubbed off on him. So today think about what you put into your mind. Here also is a little prayer for fear:

โ€œFather God, I am afraid. I admit it. The threats against me are real โ€“ at least some of them. I need your protection; I need you to rescue me. Keep your promises, and save me.

I also need you to banish the fear itself. Panic is its own threat to me. The chemical toxins released by fear cripple my body and my mind. Anxiety sickens me and brings out the darker elements of my soul. Yes, I am learning to trust you and to lean into your love and rest that comes from a confidence of your goodness, but I still struggle and suffer the damages of the radioactive debris that my fears leave behind.

You gave fear as a gift, to guard and motivate me against real danger. I need it also learn to approach you with utmost care and respect. But I have given fear a domain it never deserves. I have let it rule me. I have made survival a god in my life, and its tyranny drives me to my knees, not in gratitude but in terror. Itโ€™s a sick kind of false worship. Deliver me from fearโ€™s grip.

Our bodies react to our feelings of dread and fear. A weight in the pit of our stomachs, along with our hearts pounding as we gulp for breath, signal our sense of anxiety. Our physical nature keeps us from ignoring these feelings of unease.

The disciples felt shockwaves of fear one night after Jesus had performed the miracle of feeding more than five thousand people. The Lord had sent them ahead to Bethsaida so He could be alone to pray. During the night, they were rowing against the wind when suddenly they saw Him walking on the water. Thinking He was a ghost, they were terrified (Mark 6:49-50).

But Jesus reassured them, telling them not to be afraid and to take courage. As He entered their vessel, the wind died down and they made it to the shore. I imagine that their feelings of dread calmed as they embraced the peace He bestowed.

When weโ€™re feeling breathless with anxiety, we can rest assured in Jesusโ€™s power. Whether He calms our waves or strengthens us to face them, He will give us the gift of His peace that โ€œtranscends all understandingโ€ (Philippians 4:7). And as He releases us from our fears, our spirits and our bodies can return to a state of rest. โ€”Amy Boucher Pye

INSIGHT: When we read todayโ€™s story, we may wonder why these sturdy fishermen would be afraid of a โ€œghostโ€ (Mark 6:49). But put yourself in their shoes. The disciples did see someone walking on the waterโ€”and they knew that was not possible. We may not fear the same things they feared, but we all have fears. Just like the disciples, we need the assurance of Jesusโ€™s words: โ€œTake courage! It is I. Donโ€™t be afraidโ€ (v. 50). The Lord who fed the multitude with a few loaves and fishes is the same one who walked on water. The disciples did not need to fear because they knew who Jesus was and what He could do. Jesus was essentially saying, โ€œDonโ€™t be afraid! You know me.โ€

No Longer Afraid of Sunday ๐Ÿ˜”

Good afternoon friends, it’s Sunday and like yesterday I’m relaxing. Just finish putting some food on the grill for dinner, now off to shower and do nothing. Well this is a change from so many other Sunday’s. Remember there was a time not to long ago that Sunday would have my anxiety level high. I couldn’t relax, the fear of Monday coming was just dreadful. As you all know, nothing good ever happens for me on Monday but today I don’t feel a damn thing. I feel just like normal for a change and it feels good. I’m feeling normal for a change. Yes, I know it’s the meds but hell I’ll take what I can get๐Ÿ˜‚Usually I’m so exhausted by this time I would be back in bed. Well not today, I actually got a lot done this morning. Feeling a little guilty for not waking up for church, but I’m still having some trouble with my faith right now! So afraid everything is going to come crashing down around me, but I feel ready for anything today…go figure!!! Sunday I’m no longer afraid of you, hoping I can take this into the rest of the week!
