Mental Health Awareness Week…Steps to becoming worry free๐Ÿ’š

From a religious stand-point, Jesus once asked his 12 disciples: โ€œWhich of you by worrying can add a single strand of hair to your head?โ€ Now, you may be of a religious background or maybe not, but, think about that statement and youโ€™d see why worrying, a main symptom of anxiety depression is quite unnecessary.๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ

Reduced to its simplest form, what is worry? It is simply an unhealthy and destructive mental habit that- believe it or not folks-you were not born with but simply acquired out of practice. The good news is, with aggressive actions, as with any habit and acquired attitude; we can be worry free and eliminate it from our lives successfully.

Anxiety Depression: Steps to take to be Worry Free:

The following steps should be used to deal with anxiety depression and its main symptom, worry. When used wisely and effectively, you will inevitably be successful at these natural depression help techniques. I learned most of these in therapy as well…seeking help isn’t weak!!!

1๏ธโƒฃ Practice Mind-drainage: Empty your mind of pessimistic and negative thoughts, especially before going to and after waking up from sleep. This involves some degree of imagination friends. (the same imagination-mind you-that you are actually using to aggravate your present situationsโ€ฆdidnโ€™t realize that eh?). This mind-draining strategy cannot be overemphasized as I will let you know, if you fear something for a long period of time, it may actually come to pass. โ€œFor the thing which I feared has come upon meโ€ฆโ€ (Job 3:25)

2๏ธโƒฃ Fill up the mind with powerful thoughts of faith and success to fill up the vacuum now left in the mind. You become a worrier by practicing it, you can be worry-free by practicing the opposite.

3๏ธโƒฃSay positive things about those things you previously spoke negatively of.

4๏ธโƒฃ Never participate in a worry conversation. Induce your conversation with faith and worry-free statements.

5๏ธโƒฃ Make friends with optimistic people, practice prayer and meditation.

6๏ธโƒฃExercise and eat right. Youโ€™ll be making yourself look and feel better and consequently stronger through the process for overcoming depression, anxiety and becoming worry free.

No one is saying things will be automatically changed overnight. No, it takes work. However with direct and equally aggressive actions as the destructive worry habits one may be indulging in, anxiety depression can be overcome and you too can be worry free if you believe in your mind you can.

I believe you can do it, we can all do it together….

Tuesday Thoughts…Life is Wonderfulโ˜บ๐Ÿงก

Happy Tuesday Friends....

Life Is Wonderful, yes I do believe that now!!๐Ÿ˜

It is so simple and so easy to get what we want that we have a hard time to believe it. We are programmed to do things the hard and difficult way, in order to get what we want. We can not believe that we can get anything without hard labour, sweat and tears, obstacles
and misery.

This is nothing else but a tough old programmation, a conditioning from our childhood. If you are like me, you were bombarded as a child with expressions from adults about how hard life is and how we have to struggle to get something. We were submitted to a hazardous universe or a God of revenge who could pick us out without any reason to take revenge on us for something we did wrong. We needed to avoid being bad or wrong, but disease could strike us anyway. Sometimes they even said : โ€œItโ€™s again a good one whoโ€™s punished, and the bad one take off easily like usual without paying anything!โ€. We learned that life wasnโ€™t fair. We lived in fear and thought life was a valley of tears, fear, struggle, pain, disease
and death?

How would it have been if theyโ€™ve told us the truth? The truth, nothing but the truth?๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ That life is easy, wonderful. That miracles happen all the time and that we have the power to make them happen in our own life! That the universe loves us. That there is wealth and health for everyone. That we donโ€™t live in a universe of scarcity but of abundance. That we only have to put the right thoughts in our heads to make these dreams real for us.

What would your life have looked like if your parents and teachers would have taught you the truth?

You we would have suffered much less! You would not have believed you were less than nothing. You would not have been filled with fear over your ears of getting sick or failing, of being stupid or being not good enough.

If you would have known from the beginning that you were a creation of the Creator, that you will always remain, that you will always be around, that you were created for a reason, and when you find this reason you will be happy, what would your life look like now? If you were told that you had talents, unique qualities, that make you a special person, and that you are on earth with the mission to offer these talents to others, where would you be right now and what would you be doing now?

Isnโ€™t it nice? The Genius who created this whole thing did really well : we are sent to earth with a mission and to be able to assume our mission we are already fully equiped from the beginning : we are gifted with natural talents and all we have to do is develop our talents and offer them to the world! Simply said, we have to do what we can do easily already and what we are talented for, and than happiness, satisfaction, love, money and everything we want comes flowing our way!

It is so beautiful, this concept! All we have to do is to do what we love! And of course we need to stop once for all to think we donโ€™t deserve happiness or wealth or health. All these thoughts are wrong because they go against the principles of creation of the Universe.

We are already wonderful! We are already loved! We are already rich! We are already free! We are already intelligent! We are already healthy!๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ
Why? Because we were all this before we started our life. It is the way we really are. It is the way we were created, we were born. This is the truth about ourselves. Everything else is โ€œlearnedโ€ afterwards.

The good news is whatever is learned can be un-learned. Every programmation can be changed and replaced by a new program.

And again, life is wonderful, because a positive thought is 10,000 times more powerful than a negative thought. So you donโ€™t have to take another 40 years to undo the negative conditioning in your head. One positive thought can counterbalance 10,000 negative ones.

Can you imagine? Arenโ€™t we lucky?

If you choose to do so, you can rapidly turn around your negative program in your head. Go to the bookstore, buy some books with positive thoughts, put them at every toilet in the house, in the bathroom, in your bedroom, in your living room, and read them whenever you think of it or see them. It doesnโ€™t matter if you read one page after another or if you just open the book as it falls in your hands. The message you will receive will be the right one for you at that very moment.

Every morning you start your day by saying thank you to the Universe for your bed, your house, the roof over your head, the people living with your, the water coming out of your tap, the light switching on by a simple gesture of your hand, the food available, the choices you can make that day, the love you received in your life and the love you will receive, the miracles which will happen today and the air you can breath.

In your car, listen to CDโ€™s with positive programmation. Listen to them while you make dinner, clean the house or iron your clothes.

Surround yourself with positive people and stop nourishing negative social talk. Donโ€™t watch television unless there is some really positive program.

There is a lot you can do to take a positive turn in your life. Donโ€™t think you can do nothing. You are responsible for your life now. Make your choice! Know that every thought you think is either one which will weaken you, or one which will make you feel stronger.
The choice is yours!

Have an amazing day friends….

Remember you can always reprogram your mind….

Why African Americans Don’t Seek Health Care?

There are different reasons to this answer this question, but the two major reasons are described below:

  • Lack of knowledge and misunderstanding

There is great misunderstanding about mental health in the African-American population. It is due to lack of knowledge as many people think that the mental health consultation is a sign of weakness and they feel ashamed for seeking help. Some even believe it’s a punishment from God and thus consider not seeking help from a doctor, but a church. Most in our community think we can just ‘pray’ it away. As a result, their conditions tend to worsen over time. This then ruins relationships, work life, and their life in general. To avoid this, we have to make sure all of our peers seek the information they need.

  • Misdiagnosis

According to recent research, one-quarter of African-Americans seek mental health care and are usually misdiagnosis. Usually most doctors in our community don’t take our symptoms serious, we are told to go home and in my case, I was told to pray about it. I was also told that black people don’t need those drugs in our system. How foolish? This has a negative influence on our lives and leads us to distrust the professional healthcare system and workers. Most of us just couldn’t care less to seek the help, because we are constantly misdiagnosis.ย

Thus through proper knowledge, eliminating the negative stereotypes, and constant conversations we can reduce fewer suicides. It is our duty in the African-American community to guide our love ones when we see them suffering.ย

Why African Americans don’t take Mental Health serious?

When it comes to mental health, African-Americans are no more different from the rest of the population. They have just decided that mental health isn’t worth discussing or seeking help. Without the proper mental health treatment we can not live a proper life. Seeking help shouldn’t be taboo, but it is in our community. African-Americans are likely 20 more times to suffer from the disease compared to our caucasian brother and sisters. Any oneย can develop a serious case of a mental health issue, it’s just more common in African-American community. So with that being said, we don’t seek help because we have lack of knowledge about mental illness, we lack health care, and the fear of judgement keeps us from getting diagnoseย You can read more on this in my e-book on Amazon!

Mental Health in the African American Community!

In honor of black history month I felt the need to talk about this on going problem in our community. Mental Health, In the African-American community, depression is frowned upon and actually doesn’t even exist, or least I haven’t heard anyone speak of it. Being bombarded day in and day out with sarcastic comments, rolled eyes, and back turns, this is why most African-American women/men suffer from depression in silence and don’t speak out. It’s exactly why I did and refused to let friends, or family know. See, suffering from depression is so hard for people to believe, because they don’t know how it exactly looks. What does depression look like? Mental Illness is often invisible to most people, and we are very good at masking it behind fake smiles, and makeup. Read more about depression in my book:ย
