Wellness Wednesday…Don’t Let Depression Continue To Control You!!!!!

Depression has had control over me for more years than I care to remember...I no longer let this illness get the best of me! I'm determined to be in control and so should you...here are 5️⃣reasons why you need to put depression in its place!!!
1️⃣Family – It can be very vexing to loved one’s when you are depressed. On one hand they want nothing but the best for you, but on the other they sometimes get frustrated and wonder why you can’t simply snap out of it. It can be particularly hard on children of someone with depression as it may affect their outlook on life for many years to come. Having experienced this myself, I can say definitely this is the number one reason to fight your depression.

2️⃣Work – Work life generally suffers when in the throws of depression. It is more difficult to concentrate and not as easy to create and maintain good professional working relationships and partnerships. Furthermore, it makes being a “Self-starter” more unlikely. Rather than moving forward, maintaining the status-quo becomes more acceptable, even if only unconsciously.

3️⃣Love – The love life of a person with depression can suffer tremendously. Regardless of How much someone may profess their dedication to another person, if the other person can never see the bright side, it can wear on them. Life is short, right? Love conquers A WHOLE LOT, but it doesn’t conquer everything. Sometimes we must add internal fortitude to love to truly be invincible. Besides isn’t it better to fight, not just for you, but for this person that you love as well?

4️⃣Health – University studies have proven that people who are depressed are more likely to get sick, and more likely to die of an illness than those who are content. It is in your benefit, health wise, to fight your depression as well. A recent New York Times article, citing a University study, indicated that persons who have been diagnosed as depressed have more hospital visits, and a shorter lifespan.

5️⃣Prosperity – The depressed person sometimes lacks clarity of thought, and may miss golden opportunities to improve their lives if only they had been paying attention. This may be, perhaps, the most important point, since many people believe they would be happier if only this part of their life, or that part of their life, etc was different. Allowing good things to happen in your life might just give you the jump start needed to end the cycle of depression and self imposed-isolation( even if only figuratively ). This one is my fav😉🤑

Fighting depression can help your life in many ways. In some ways, the fight in itself is also a reward. You become stronger, do better at work, have better relationships, and can focus on what is really important in life so that you can improve it, for yourself, your family, friends, and loved ones. Depression for me was a blessing in disguise…

Hope these tips help you beat the hell put of depression as well….

Wishing you good mental health,

Wednesday Widsom…Learn how to make Everyday Special😁

The same sun, the same sky, the same home, and the same routine.☹

Life is boring.

Every day is same.

How to carry on from day to day?🤷🏾‍♀️Why does a week not have seven sundays? Don’t you find yourself saying – ‘I want to enjoy life. I am getting bored with my schedule that never changes. There is no excitement in my life.’ Ask few friends around their life and they will say something similar.

Why is life becoming a bore for them and how to make it exciting?

Can one escape work? No sensible person can? Can a parent stop caring for his/her children? No.🤷🏾‍♀️ Can an executive stop taking decisions? No. Then how to make life exciting? There must be some way. Yes, there is a way and it is very simple. Just look out of your window and watch the sky. Do you observe any clouds? Look at them. Look at the different shapes? Who made them? From where did they arrive and where will they go? Look at some flowers in your home. Observe the symmetry. Touch and feel the softness. How lovely! We are surrounded by treasures, but we have no time to look at them. A child’s smile can make today a different day than any other day. Try to make a child smile and feel the joy.

Look at the night sky. Observe the stars and think about the distances. Some are so far away that it takes light, hundreds of years to reach us. How many millions of years you will take to walk and reach them? What is beyond them? Observe, think and get excited. Life need never be dull for any of us. Take another example. While sitting on your table, have you ever wondered about the wood that was used to make it? Have you thought about the life of the tree? A small seed grew into a gigantic tree.

How exciting. What of the tar on the road? It comes from deep inside the earth, goes to refineries and is laid on the roads.

How deep must the oil well have been? How did they locate the oil and what will happen after we finish all the oil?( I totally often wonder about this)

The world is full of objects that can make us think and wonder. 🤔

It is our attitude that makes our life.

If we adopt a child-like attitude towards things, we will bring joy back in life. 😁

I am not asking you to give up your work and enjoy. But find time during the day to look at things and wonder. Bring joy back in your life.

You can begin right now.

Look at your screen.

What happens to the text after you shut down your computers?

Where do they all go, when you close the browser?

Isn’t life full of excitement?

Live it.Dont just let it go by…. yes some of these suggestions seem weird but you get the picture my dear, life doesn’t have to be boring at all. Hope today you will find excitement in your life and be thankful God has given you this life regardless of the circumstances…

Have an amazing day friends,

Wednesday Wisdom…what have you done today for happiness tomorrow 😀

Happy Wednesday…😀

If you want to be happy tomorrow you need to begin working at it today. It’s just that simple..

Some people spend their lives waiting for happiness to arrive on its own and it never comes. Others work hard at creating wealth but still aren’t happy, discovering that money only brings a whole different set of problems. Happiness is a state of mind and not the size of your bank account. Happiness is emotional and not physical. Each individual needs to work at creating their own happiness.

I like how Richard Bach, the author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, put it when he said, “If your happiness depends on what somebody else does, I guess you do have a problem.”

To find happiness you first have to understand where happiness comes from. Memories are to the mind what a mirror is to the eyes – a reflection. The mirror reflects the physical while our memories reflect the emotional. When you look in the mirror it reflects what you look like; when you look in your mind it reflects who you are. One big difference between the two is that you can change what you see in the mirror but you can’t change the memories reflected in your mind.

We tend to spend a lot of time trying to improve what we see in the mirror, but little or no effort trying to improve our thoughts. Every action creates a memory. Do you really think that the person who is bitter and angry today was happy and cheerful yesterday? If a person says or does something which angers or upsets us, we can either add to the painful memory with our own negative actions or we can replace them with positive actions and create positive memories.

If you want to be happy tomorrow you must choose carefully what you do today, because today’s actions will be reflected in tomorrow’s memories and you can not make them go away. Everything you do today will be in tomorrow’s reflection. The next time a person angers you, instead of lashing out, try imagining that you are holding up a mirror that bounces the reflection back at him, knowing that his actions or words are a reflection of him and not of you.

We all want to like what we see in the mirror. To be truly happy we also have to like what we see reflected in our minds. What the mirror reflects is not nearly as powerful as what the mind reflects, for it reflects our words and actions.💗

What will your reflections be filled with?

Will your reflections/memories be filled with goodness and joy or with bitterness and anger?

What have you done today that will bring you happiness tomorrow?😃

Hope this post gives you something to think about….🤔

Have a wonderful Wednesday,

Tuesday Tips…be as happy as you want to be😃

Happy Tuesday friends....

Almost everyone have heard the hit single 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' by Bobby McFerrin. 🎶

The song has a very catchy way of conveying its message of being happy to everyone. Bobby Mcferiin's simple message surely made a lot of people by telling them not to worry.

Living a happy, resilient and optimistic life is wonderful, and is also good for your health. Being happy actually protects you from the stresses of life. Stress is linked to top causes of death such as heart disease, cancer and stroke.

One of the better things ever said is - 'The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change', and in our life we have the power to make the necessary changes if we want to. Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable situation we can always find solace in the knowledge that it too would change.

Social networks or relationships are essential to happiness. People are different, accept people for who or what they are, avoid clashes, constant arguments, and let go of all kinds of resentments. If arguments seem unavoidable still try and make an effort to understand the situation and you might just get along with well with

Happiness is actually found in everyone, increasing it is a way to make a life more wonderful and also more healthy.😃

To be happy is relatively easy, just decide to be a happy person. Abraham Lincoln observed that most people for most of the time can choose how happy or stressed, how relaxed or troubled, how bright or dull their outlook to be. The choice is simple really, choose to be happy.

There are several ways by which you can do this.

⭐Being grateful is a great attitude. We have so much to be thankful for. Thank the taxi driver for bringing you home safely, thank the cook for a wonderful dinner and thank the guy who cleans your windows. Also thank the mailman for bringing you your mails, thank the policeman for making your place safe and thank God for being alive.

⭐News is stressful. Get less of it. Some people just can't start their day without their daily dose of news. Try and think about it, 99% of the news we hear or read is bad news. Starting the day with bad news does not seem to be a sensible thing to do.

⭐A religious connection is also recommended. Being part of a religious group with its singing, sacraments, chanting, prayers and meditations foster inner peace.

⭐Manage your time. Time is invaluable and too important to waste. Time management can be viewed as a list of rules that involves scheduling, setting goals, planning, creating lists of things to do and prioritizing. These are the core basics of time management that should be understood to develop an efficient personal time management skill. These basic skills can be fine tuned further to include the finer points of each skill that can give you that extra reserve to make the results you desire.

⭐Laugh and laugh heartily everyday. Heard a good joke? Tell your friends or family about it. As they also say -'Laughter is the best medicine'.🤣

⭐Express your feelings, affections, friendship and passion to people around you. They will most likely reciprocate your actions. Try not to keep pent up anger of frustrations, this is bad for your health. Instead find ways of expressing them in a way that will not cause more injury or hurt to anyone.

⭐Working hard brings tremendous personal satisfaction. It gives a feeling of being competent in finishing our tasks. Accomplishments are necessary for all of us, they give us a sense of value. Work on things that you feel worthy of your time.⏰

⭐Learning is a joyful exercise. Try and learn something new everyday. Learning also makes us expand and broaden our horizons. And could also give us more opportunities in the future.

⭐Run, jog, walk and do other things that your body was made for. Feel alive.

⭐Avoid exposure to negative elements like loud noises, toxins and hazardous places.

And always remember the quote from Abraham Lincoln, he says that, "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

You can also choose happiness, it’s great for your well-being….😊

Have a Terrific Tuesday,

Self Improvement and Why it’s Important

Happy Tuesday all, so as you know if your reading my blog,(if not I’m going to need you to subscribe) NOW!! LOL I have been on this road to recovery and trying all sorts of things to keep me from falling back into that hole. In order to start this process I gave up drinking, getting angry, and self-doubt. Yes!!! All these things can be hard, but you have to give the shit a try. We all want to improve and become better people, and we all decide that the first of year is when we are going to start….then we fall off!! By March we have found a hundred excuses why we just can’t get it together. I have to admit this was me ust last year, but I’m determined to see this year through and become healthier mentally and physically. So again if you have not subscribe to my blog so you can read my updates….then I suggest you subscribe NOW!!! I have developed an obsessive passion for self-improvement and my personal growth. So this week I’ll be blogging about some of the self improvement tactics I intend to take. As I stated in the beginning, I have completely given up alcohol and  stop letting my anger get out of control. Baby steps people…baby steps! So please feel free to comment on what you will do this week, maybe I can get some pointers from all of you out there….so here’s to a week of self improvement!!!
