What You Get From ‘Healing’

I’m often asked this question during my Zoom sessions I have with potential clients; sometimes I smile, other times I’m sad! Sad because there are so many of you who believe not healing and staying wounded is better.

So many believe if you start your healing, that must mean all your problems will go away, but that’s not how healing works! Healing helps you cope with your challenges; healing helps you to see the bright side of your chaotic life! Healing allows you to manage better the relationships you have.

I never pretend as a coach, as a friend, wife, or mom that things are all rosy. What I do show you is how to react better to life! How to not let your circumstances become more significant than you!

Trust me, it’s complicated, but staying resentful, chaotic, hopeless, wounded, and broken forever was no longer cutting it for me!

So if you’re on the fence about starting your healing journey, don’t stand there too long. Beginning this process will be the best thing that will happen to you and for your mental wellbeing!

🖤”The place of true healing is a fierce place. It’s a giant place. It’s a place of monstrous beauty and endless dark and glimmering light. And you have to work really, really, really hard to get there, but you can do it.”

Welcome, My name is Olivia Shepherd, and I am the founder of this awesome blog about depression and mental illness. I started this blog in 2016 after being diagnosed with Major Depression, Anxiety and PTSD. I didn't have anybody to talk too or share my feelings with, so I decided to share them publicly to help others. I'm passionate and dedicated to bringing awareness about mental health, especially in the African American community. I also want to empower your voice to speak up and fight the stigma surrounding this illness. I’m also the founder of AshesToBeauty Mentoring & Outreach, a virtual online service dedicated to to the positive development and accelerated recovery of girls and women who have experienced abuse and depression, Ashes To Beauty strives to empower women to take their lives back by providing life skill education, one-on-one mentorship and impactful personal tools by which these impacted women can build the foundation for a successful future. Look forward to having you read my blog, 𝓞𝓵𝓲𝓿𝓲𝓪 𝓑. 𝓢𝓱𝓮𝓹𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓭 💋
