Are You Ready For The Holidays ๐ŸŽ„ ๐ŸŽ

โ–ช๏ธAs we approach the holiday season, that sense of “overwhelm” rings as loud as the Salvation Army bells.๐Ÿ›Ž

For some of us, the holiday season represents stress, pressure, expectations, guilt, disappointment, pain, loneliness, exhaustion and the list goes onโ€ฆ

And it doesn’t have to be that way!๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

โœ”๏ธWe can choose who we spend time with.

โœ”๏ธWe can choose what activities we say YES and NO to.

โœ”๏ธWe can choose where we go. (if you are not on lockdown )

Your holiday season can be as straightforward or as elaborate as you choose to make it, and it can be a lot of fun if you plan accordinglyโ€ฆ

So take some time this week to think about who/ what’s most important to you this season, and then do a little planningโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ“‹Make a list of those you want to spend time with during the holidays:

You are NOT obligated to spend time with people who make you feel uncomfortable.

Who nourishes you:

This can be neighbors, church members, etc. remember it may not always be family, and itโ€™s ok ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ

Who brings you down:

Maybe this is not the year to get together with them! Don’t feel guilty or let them guilt you into being someplace you don’t want to be.

โ–ช๏ธAs you prepare for the holidays, remember that the greatest gifts of all won’t be found under the gift wrapโ€ฆ

Happy Holidays,

Welcome, My name is Olivia Shepherd, and I am the founder of this awesome blog about depression and mental illness. I started this blog in 2016 after being diagnosed with Major Depression, Anxiety and PTSD. I didn't have anybody to talk too or share my feelings with, so I decided to share them publicly to help others. I'm passionate and dedicated to bringing awareness about mental health, especially in the African American community. I also want to empower your voice to speak up and fight the stigma surrounding this illness. Iโ€™m also the founder of AshesToBeauty Mentoring & Outreach, a virtual online service dedicated to to the positive development and accelerated recovery of girls and women who have experienced abuse and depression, Ashes To Beauty strives to empower women to take their lives back by providing life skill education, one-on-one mentorship and impactful personal tools by which these impacted women can build the foundation for a successful future. Look forward to having you read my blog, ๐“ž๐“ต๐“ฒ๐“ฟ๐“ฒ๐“ช ๐“‘. ๐“ข๐“ฑ๐“ฎ๐“น๐“ฑ๐“ฎ๐“ป๐“ญ ๐Ÿ’‹
