Listen To Your Feelings: All feelings are good. Every feeling occurs for a reason: it is delivering a message. Sometimes that message is pleasant, other times not. Our tendency is to distract ourselves from unpleasant feelings, often through smoking, drinking or drugs of one kind or another. When you feel bad, avoid distracting yourself, and identify the reasonโ€”there is some need not being met.

Give Of Yourself: The more you give, the more you receive. There is probably no scientific study proving this to be so, but unconditional giving is hugely rewarding. It seems that the more of yourself you give, the greater the thrill and uplifting effect on your psyche. Help the needy. Give time if you can. Give anonymously, even if you lose the tax deduction!

Make It Happen: You have the ability to make things happen using your mind. Top sports stars, and business people use it, and so can you. There are many ways of doing this; one of the common methods is to use visualizationโ€”getting a picture in your mind of whatever it is that you want to happen. It does not actually have to be a visual picture; it could be a feeling, a smell, a sound, or any combination of the senses. Imagine finding the perfect parking near the entrance as you arrive at the supermarket or mall โ€ฆ the sky is the limit, but persevere! We are not used to utilizing this tool, so it takes practice. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Think about it … every single thing we do is intended to make us happier.

And yet sometimes we get diverted and do things that actually move us away from this goal.

Here are 3๏ธโƒฃ easy tips to help you get happy quick:

1๏ธโƒฃ Look For The Positive In Everything: There is an old saying that nothing is inherently good or badโ€”what makes it one or the other, is merely your reaction to it. Find the positive and you will be happier. Those who soar against all odds, do so because they look at the positive that could come out of their situation, how ever bad it may seem to others.

2๏ธโƒฃ Accentuate The Positive: We all grow up with a โ€œpositivity imbalanceโ€โ€”the result of societyโ€™s norms and rules being based on restriction and punishment more than approval and reward. From a young age we are taught what we must not do instead of what we may do. Even in day-to-day life, there is more negative influence that positive. Luckily you can work to improve the balance. Celebrate the positive and work to get more of it. When you achieve something, congratulate yourself! Look for things you find uplifting, that make you happy. Get more of that! At the same time, reduce your exposure to negative input, whether it is the daily news, or people you donโ€™t feel good around. You know your buttonsโ€ฆmake sure the positive ones are pushed more than the negative.

3๏ธโƒฃ Practice Good Selfishness: When we were young we were taught that putting our interests before those of others is wrong. This is particularly true for women, many of whom sacrifice their dreams and ambitions to help others achieve theirs. It is also common in the corporate world where the good of the company is considered more important than the good of the individual. It is good to help others, yet we should have boundaries to protect ourselves from being manipulated or abused by others. You are important, and if you donโ€™t look after yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually, you cannot expect anyone else to do so.

Many of us wish for more happiness.

We want to lead happier, more fulfilling, lives, but the sad truth is that so many of us that wish for more happiness spend much more time tending the happiness of others than we do tending to our own happiness.

Happiness does not simply happen. A person does not suddenly stumble across happiness. Happiness is the result of careful tending and a person who wishes to be happy must tend to their own happiness.

Tending to your happiness does not need to be difficult, complex, or time-consuming. It can be as simple as this four-step formula:

1. Trash your unhappy thoughts and trends

2. Envision yourself happy

3. Needs fulfilled

4. Desires fulfilled

Making yourself a happier person really can be that simple.

Step one is an important one because unhappiness is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Many people are unhappy because they don’t believe they deserve to be happy and they lock themselves into patterns of behavior that make them unhappy.

You must trash your unhappy thoughts and trends.

Look inside yourself and find out what (and when) you think about things that make you unhappy. Is there a specific time of day that you tend to be more unhappy? Is there a specific task or routine that seems to feed your unhappiness? Is there something that you do or think that contributes to your own unhappiness?

Once you identify the areas of your life that cause you unhappiness you can find ways to confront it and combat it. Sometimes you can make a change to avoid the trouble spot altogether, but when that’s not possible find ways to make it less difficult on yourself. Adjust your schedule or your expectations if that will make things better. Recruit help when you can. Just easing off one task or freeing up a few hours can make a huge difference in your attitude. When all else fails and you can’t change or share something unpleasant than don’t hesitate to give yourself a reward for accomplishing it. Knowing you will be rewarded can sometimes make difficult tasks more palatable.

Step two is key. Some people have been unhappy for so long they have forgotten what happiness looks like and feels like. Envisioning yourself happy can help create the happiness habit. Thinking about your own happiness will also help counterbalance times when you are unhappy or working through unpleasant tasks. Think about difficult times as simply stepping stones to happy times.

Step three cannot be overlooked. If your basic needs for food and sleep are not met then you will not be able to focus on happiness. Obviously it is not impossible for hungry, sleep-deprived people to be happy, but most humans are a lot less likely to be happy in that state. Food and sleep provide fuel for both body and mind and the healthier your body and mind then the better chance you have to achieve happiness.

Step four is the final step to achieving happiness. What do you desire? What do you wish for? What do you dream about? Allow yourself to dream big but don’t overlook small wishes and desires. While a two-week cruise might be great just having a weekend at a local resort might really give the rest, relaxation and escape you might need. Or perhaps you’d really like to lose 30 or 50 pounds but finding a way to work in some exercise a few times a week might give you more immediate gratification while eventually accomplishing your long-term goal.

Make a list of your desires, wishes, and dreams — big and small — and keep that list some place handy.

Sometimes you don’t even need to accomplish your goals to achieve happiness. Sometimes it is simply enough to know that you are working toward your dreams. Often happiness is found on the path to our dreams. Often happiness is created while we strive to make our wishes come true.

You can make yourself a happier person but you must tend to your happiness. ๐Ÿ˜Š

So often we spend more time tending to our outer possessions than we do tending to our inner ones. You can make a few changes to your life to find a better balance and that will help create more personal happiness for you.

Sometimes you are so overwhelmed with endless work or studies, family and friends. You find that you donโ€™t have the time to do anything. So how exactly, do you organize your life and create more hours in a day?

1. Get yourself a plannerโœ๏ธ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ“’

Write down everything that you need, your groceries list, your phone, your appointment dates. Write everything down inside there. Then in your planner, make a to-do list for your day. Donโ€™t make a list that you canโ€™t achieve. Like for instance, you would like to complete a paper by today. That is impossible isnโ€™t it? Break your large tasks into small actionable tasks. Then make a to-do list for the week. This is an extension of your daily list. What you canโ€™t do today, you can do tomorrow for that week.

2. Be effective with your activities

Do all your shopping at one go. Donโ€™t go to the store to buy your milk now, then in the evening, drop by to buy toilet paper. You are wasting your time. Compile a shopping list and do all your shopping at one go. Another example will be to pay your bills all at one time instead of paying them at different times.

3. Multitask

Do you have to wait at the dentist for an appointment and at the same time you have to write that important paper? So whilst you are waiting for the dentist, bring your piece of paper and brainstorm about the ideas you use to write in your paper. Load the washing machine and whilst waiting for it, send some emails, or do your calls.

4. Assign a time frame๐Ÿ•›

Set a timeframe for your tasks each day. Give a time slot for each item and plan your day properly. For example, you have to go to the dentists at 11 and you also have to buy groceries. So while you are out of the house, put your groceries shopping at 10 in the morning and then you can go to the dentist after that. Then you can go straight away home. You are saving time and saving on fuel too instead of two trips out of the house.๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

So what are you waiting for? Get your life organized and you will find that you have more hours in a day to do everything! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ

A lot of times individuals feel disgruntled because they don’t feel appreciated by other people. That’s understandable. Naturally we all long to be appreciated by others. But if our happiness hinges on the encouragement of others, we may occasionally find ourselves being needlessly discouraged.

The answer is to encourage yourself! Here are a few ways to do just that.

1๏ธโƒฃSmall pieces of bigger blessings.

While encouraging yourself, it’s great to kickoff with the long-familiar and obvious things like family, friends, your home, and so forth. But once you’ve named those things, try to be more particular.

For example, if you’re grateful for your family, individually list the members of your family and then compose a detailed listing of all of the ways you’re thankful for that particular family member. The same can be true for the other biggies. For example, if you’re thankful for your home (and you ought to be, even if it’s humble!), list the particulars about what you value about your home.๐Ÿ™‚

Think through every facet of your home, and individually, list what you’re thankful for. They are things you take for granted, and yet would certainly miss if you didn’t have them! I’ve found it helpful to center on one small aspect of the various big things in my life daily and list utterly everything I can think that will encourage me.

2๏ธโƒฃList of your gifts.

We frequently center on what we’re not good at, or ways we go wrong or wish were different. But we all have assorted gifts and abilities. Centering on those things can provide a good deal of encouragement. Nothing is too little to list! Or, as in the case above, begin with something big, and then list utterly everything you are able to dream up that comes under that certain category. Generallyspeaking, every talent that you have includes multiple “sub talents.” Be particular!

3๏ธโƒฃRecall the past.

Occasionally when setbacks happen, like not being able to pay the rent on time, remind yourself of the fact that you’ve always managed to keep a roof over your head in the past, and that somehow things will work out this time also.

As well, when remembering the past, occasionally it’s great fun to think way back, even to childhood, about fun, interesting, and exciting experiences. Frequently this makes me laugh, and it also helps me to see how rich and terrific my life has been – and without doubt, will continue to be.

4๏ธโƒฃName your cares.

This might seem like an unusual way to be encouraged, and I’ll acknowledge that initially naming my cares sometimes causes me tension! But, naming my cares is often the first step in coping with the issues impending, and as I deal with them, I’m encouraged.

As well, as I name my cares – particularly if write in my journal about them – I frequently see that they are not as bad and scary as I thought. Frequently, when I journal about my cares or the things I’m baffled about, I find that I’m blowing things out of proportion and that the situation isn’t nearly as bad as I initially believed. That’s encouraging!

Remind yourself of encouragement from other people. Yes, this is about encouraging yourself, but occasionally you are able to do that by remembering past encouragement from other people. Maybe no one has done anything to encourage you this past week or even month, but we’ve all had moments of encouragement from other people in the past.
