Good day all, hope you all are having a good one so far. It’s Super Bowl Sunday and sadly my team (Eagles) are not in it, but that’s ok as long as them Cowboys are home watching it too. lol I’m not a big fan of Brady so I’m hoping Trumps friend gets beat tonight by the Falcons, yeah I know that was petty!! I told ya’ll I’m feeling good today, I got up early this morning and made it to church. Let me tell you church was super awesome. I got my church fix today and hope this feeling last all week. I cried, laughed, prayed, and cried some more…didn’t care who saw me at all. Usually my anxiety kicks in and I start hearing voices in my head that people are staring and judging me. Not today ya’ll, not today! I was in my own world with God in my heart, it was a blessing this morning for real. I know I don’t go as often as I like to, but I feel like I need to start taking care of myself spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Having depression like I said has taken so much from me, even my church life. I’m just going to hope this mood last all week…fingers crossed. I know this post seems like I’m rambling, but I’m just so full of joy and words can’t express my feelings today. Well I’m off to make some goodies to watch the game for the boys, I just want to see the commercials and Lady Gaga!!! Chat soon….

Welcome, My name is Olivia Shepherd, and I am the founder of this awesome blog about depression and mental illness. I started this blog in 2016 after being diagnosed with Major Depression, Anxiety and PTSD. I didn't have anybody to talk too or share my feelings with, so I decided to share them publicly to help others. I'm passionate and dedicated to bringing awareness about mental health, especially in the African American community. I also want to empower your voice to speak up and fight the stigma surrounding this illness. I’m also the founder of AshesToBeauty Mentoring & Outreach, a virtual online service dedicated to to the positive development and accelerated recovery of girls and women who have experienced abuse and depression, Ashes To Beauty strives to empower women to take their lives back by providing life skill education, one-on-one mentorship and impactful personal tools by which these impacted women can build the foundation for a successful future.
